PWA install

Install DocStow to your home screen

DocStow is ready to use from the browser today. On supported browsers, you can install it as a Progressive Web App for a cleaner app-style launch.

The DocStow PWA is the current mobile-ready product surface for real users. It gives households quick access to the document vault, reminders, CardVault, settings, support, export controls, and account deletion controls without waiting for native app store listings.

Android Chrome

Open DocStow in Chrome. Use the browser install prompt when it appears, or open the Chrome menu and choose Add to Home screen.

iPhone Safari

Open DocStow in Safari. Tap Share, choose Add to Home Screen, then confirm the DocStow icon and name.

Desktop browsers

Use DocStow directly from the browser. Supported desktop browsers may also offer an install icon in the address bar.

What to expect

Same secure account

The PWA uses the same DocStow account, household permissions, export controls, and deletion controls as the website.

Offline fallback

DocStow keeps a small offline fallback and previously opened CardVault shell available, but fresh documents, uploads, billing, and account changes need a connection.

Before inviting household members

Create the account, complete onboarding, upload one synthetic or low-risk document first, and confirm reminders, sharing, and billing expectations are clear. Paid Pro and Family plans start through Stripe-secured checkout with a 30-day trial.

Recommended launch setup

For a first household rollout, install DocStow on the devices people will actually use: a primary laptop or desktop browser, at least one Android Chrome phone if available, and at least one iPhone Safari home screen install if the household uses iOS. This gives the organiser a practical check across the same surfaces customers are likely to use during real document tasks.

Start with a small set of records rather than every file in the house. A good first pass is one identity or travel document, one insurance policy, one receipt or warranty, one card, and one reminder date. That creates enough coverage to verify upload, search, categories, CardVault, reminders, and account controls without overwhelming the user.

After the first records are added, open the installed PWA from the home screen and confirm the dashboard, documents, cards, settings, and support links are easy to reach. If a browser does not offer an install prompt, DocStow still works as the normal website; the PWA install is a convenience layer rather than a separate account or separate data store.

How the PWA differs from Native iOS and Android apps

The PWA is the production-ready mobile web experience. It uses browser capabilities for home screen launch, responsive layout, secure sessions, and service worker support. Native Android and iOS apps may offer deeper platform integrations later, but households can start using the browser and installed PWA now for the core DocStow workflows.

Some browser behavior is controlled by the device and operating system. For example, iOS install steps are handled through Safari's Share menu, while Android Chrome can show a direct install prompt. Offline behavior is intentionally limited so sensitive documents, billing, account changes, and fresh uploads always use current authenticated server data.

For account, billing, privacy, or security questions, use the public contact page. For data handling details, read the Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Security Trust Center.
