Household administration often needs a tidy record for each person: contact details, important dates, school information for children, and documents that are easier to locate when they are connected to the right profile.
Profiles are private records, not user accounts
A Family profile is an owner-only household record. Creating one does not invite someone to DocStow, grant account access, or share its private details with another household member. Shared DocStow access remains a separate Family-plan feature.
Keep everyday information clear
Use the non-sensitive details card for relationship, email, phone, birthday, anniversary, and child school or year information. Add the dates you want to track, then use care and reminder records to keep the next action visible in Calendar.
Link documents without duplicating them
Documents remain managed in Documents. Link the paperwork that belongs to a profile so it is easier to find from that person's view, without creating another copy or changing the document's own access controls.
Protect sensitive information deliberately
Private health details, masked NHS information, and encrypted additional identifiers stay outside the static Family details card. They remain protected behind the existing owner-only, reveal-on-demand controls.
Know the current allowance
Every plan includes owner-only Family profiles: one on Free, two on Pro, and six on Family. Review the pricing table for the current plan allowances and keep invitations separate from profiles.
